The team removed carpet glue, LVT and tiles to expose the bare concrete. Then ground the concrete to open the pores and installed a Titan Epoxy Floor

Titan Epoxy Floor

A Little More Info:

At first glance or first walk through there was a floating “water proof” wood plank click and lock flooring system though out this restaurant that was installed 5 years prior to calling us in to take a look at the project.  The floor was installed over carpet glue which was installed over tiles which was installed over LVT. What we often see with these floating floors in high traffic areas the planks start to separate creating voids between the planks. Over time with continuous mopping, the water works its way into the voids and has no where to go creating an atmosphere for life or bacteria. In some cases leading to an  unpleasant odor. Over time these voids become greater with the constant foot traffic and the sliding of tables and chairs resulting in a failing floor covering.

In this case the restaurant owner removed the floating floor exposing the multiple layers of floor covering beneath which we  had to remove down to bare concrete (took a shade under a decade). We then diamond ground the surface to uniformly open the pores of the concrete to allow our slow setting base coat to wick deep into the concrete giving us a suitable foundation to install a Titan Epoxy Flake Floor that emulates the look of Terrazzo. Our floor coverings can withstand harsh chemicals, is non-skid (even when wet), seamless,  easy to clean while withstanding heavy foot traffic and the constant sliding of tables and chairs.
